I took some time off on Saturday to make a turn at Advanced Audio out in Lansdowne where BassMaster Inc., in conjunction with Team Autopunks, hosted their first “Sound Off” event. It was also the first sound event for 2012 where I was invited to and surely was one banging one. Some pretty impressive numbers, especially Dirk in his blue Uno hitting a 154.74 dB’s with only 2 x 12 inch DD’s.

CampFest is what it’s all about, the modified cars, the people and being able to camp over. This years Camp Festival was held at the Hartebeesport dam resort. The drive to harties is always fun, especially when there are Audi s5’s and Aston martins driving around and getting their asses handed by a couple of Vw’s!!!

The Fast, Furious and Glorious, South Africa’s biggest car charity event is knocking on our doorsteps and will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary of existence. This event will take place on Monday, 26th December at Killarney Racetrack and will be one promising event not to be missed. This is in Aid of Blouvlei L.S.E.N. in Retreat. I remember when I had my first sound setup in my car, blowing almost all my wages on expensive equipment. The neighbours were complaining and pushing a SPL reading of 140dB’s at a sound off event was impressive. That was then and time has changed, so is the competition and sound equipment.

One thing about Cape Town adrenalin junkies, no matter rain or shine they will always come out to support an event, even if it is just a “park off”!
