First time modifiers look to increase the power of their engines produce. Breathing mods for example could be a simple cold air induction kit or a nice Branch and FreeFlow exhaust system. These are usually the first engine modifications to be considered. Next you move on to internal engine modifications, these mods can range from a simple engine rebore, engine conversion and rebuilding the engine.

The head of the engine is easier to work on, many guys change their camshafts for performance camshafts and port and polish the head for better gas flow. It is definitely worth while investing in uprated valves and springs while you have the head out.

With turbo’d engines you have a lot more options open to you and these give very good power gains for a minimal outlay. With a remap you can increase power by as much as 50%. A performance intercooler will greatly benefit your engines breathing because the original intercoolers are either inefficient or non existant.
