Howzit guys and girls, if you don’t already know about these events going down in South Africa, we suggest you have a look!
There is an amazing day of action packed drifting and shows planned at the Rock Raceway and the Zoopedup “Battle of The Club’s Dyno Day for all you guys up in the Johannesburg area and for use guys down in the Cape, we have the Opel Club of Cape Towns: Fan-Park Hookup and a line up of WPMC Club drags and Day street2strip.

WINTER ROCK MANIA RACING SPECIAL @ ROCK RACEWAY

Come join us as some of South Africa’s fastest competitors will put their best performance on track and push petrol heads adrenalin glands to the ultimate. This will be a 3 in 1 action packed Drifting, Hotrod and Drag Racing event all in 1.

Patrons can multi task as they chew on their boerie roll and scream for their favourite competitor. Support your vehicle manufacturer by wearing your favourite shirt, cap or jacket. Let’s see who are the Ford, Nissan, Mini fans etc.? Bring your 1 more time banners as the drifters etch in their intentions on the surface of the track by marking their territory with black rubber stripes as they compete in the 4th round of the Japan Auto Drift series.

Please note that the main grandstand will be heated as well as the Lapa area to keep you all warm.

Gates open to public at 10H00. Racing will commence at 12H00.

Sufficient food and refreshments will be on sale at the circuit so you won’t go hungry or thirsty. But most of all bring the family, Grand Pa’s, Grand Ma’s, Moms bring the Dad’s and the kids too. The neighbours too must also come!

Opel Club CT: Fan-Park Hookup

Meet-up Spot: Sanlam in Durban Rd, (The Sanlam building is just before the Tygervalley Shopping Mall & just past the Edward Street / Nando’s Traffic Lights)
Safe & Secure Parking has kindly been arranged by 1 of our club members @ Sanlam’s parking lot & a R10 per vehicle contribution, towards the security guards, will be greatly appreciated.
From there we will take a leisurely stroll to the fanpark (walking distance). It will get pretty full so please be at the parking lot that we have secured, between 12h30 & 13h30 please

WPMC Club drags and Day street2strip

4th July will be MSA Drags practice from 9am till 1pm (MSA licence holders only) followed by STREET2STRIP from 1.30pm till 5.30pm, more info below.

Our next Friday evening STREET2STRIP is scheduled for 16th July from 7pm till 11pm.

If it looks like rain for either of these quarter mile events coming up we will rather postpone / cancel before the time than have to cancel on the morning of the event. This is not always possible to do and is costly. Our last event had to be canceled on the morning of the event due to the circuit being water logged, it did not rain during the time we were supposed to hold the event however the access roads, startline and slow down area remained wet until mid day and I still believe we made the correct decision.

Zoopedup “Battle of The Club’s Dyno Day

Zoopedup Jozi will be hosting a ‘Battle of the Car Clubs’ Dyno Day at Viper Performance Exhausts in Kempton Park on the 4 July 2010 in conjunction with Hotstuff Racing Developments.

Speed and Sound will be covering the event and bringing along some of their killer rides!!

With various car clubs taking part there will be huge sponsors on the day from Hotstuff Racing Developments, Viper Performance Exhausts and many more. There will be HUGE trophies for Team of the Show, Dyno of the Day, and for all the class winners!
