With the iconic Citi’s departure at the start of this year, Volkswagen has been preparing a new entry-level competitor with the aim of offering affordability, reliability at a low cost compared to its brothers and sisters.
According to Vw, the aim of the Polo Vivo is to provide “affordable and accessible mobility” to average South African.

Based on the previous generation Polo, which has remained hugely popular with local consumers, the new Polo Vivo is available as a sportier three-door hot hatchback, five-door hatchback and four-door saloon. Simple styling has updated the previous generation Polo’s looks.
Guys leave us some comments about what you guys think about the Polo Vivo replacing the Vw citi golfs.

can see myself in one of these..huge step up from the old polo!

Are they available in Jhb yet?
I really want a new car, my jetta is getting old
Furthermore, the Citi was replaced for the main concern that the infamous little budget vehicle did not meet the carbon emmissions standard and VW decided to bring us the Polo Vivo. Knowing that the South African Government are having talks about taxing vehicle owners on their carbon footprint, I reckon this is a very smart move by Volkswagen. The fact that the Vivo is R20 000 more expensive for the entry level option than the Citi you can be pleased that your car will be saving you some hard earned cash in the long run. I like the Vivo and will be your best option in it’s class.
