Over the years Motown has become one of those name that you associate with awesome V8 power. Motown is based down here in Cape Town. Ralph the owner has been rebuilding his 1000HP Chev Firenza Can Am over the last couple of months to hopefully brake into the 8 second bracket. This is something I personally have dreamt of doing to my Mk1 golf. A guy in Germany has done it to his Mk3 Golf, he has gone all out though.
The project all started off with a bare Mk3 Gti shell.
The car was then fitted with a modified Volvo T5 power plant. A couple special bits were added to the motor as you can see from the pictures.
Next the body was treated to an awesome powderkoting ,rollcage and sprayjob.
The drive train was put in place and all the bolts were secured.

My leave has come to an end again. This time around, the amount of work I accomplished was pathetic. Its amazing how a seat cover can get in the way of a hobby (I suppose she is a hobby too…)
I started by removing my deep sump and replacing it with a larger unit. Now the engine swallows a full 5 liter oil can without the oil even reaching the dipstick. Total oil capacity is about 6.5 liters now, up from the original 2.5 liters.
