Streetmod Motorshow – Event Coverage

I took some time off from my hectic schedule to make a turn at the annual Streetmod Motorshow over the weekend. Thanks to Marlize Hoon for dragging me along. This event took place at the Good Hope Centre and was one promising one not to be missed by all petrolheads. Once again the Mother City’s modfathers and sisters didn’t disappoint the crowd.
The main floor was packed with some awesome metal ranging from some of the hottest hotrods to Cape Town’s finest modified mobiles. The basement was allocated to the …

Stance – Explained

Not too long ago I did a write up called: “From a judge’s point of view”. This was some useful tips for all our “show and shine” petrol heads. So, it’s just fair that I do something on Stance. This is to clear the confusion between the two as most petrol heads confuse the one with the other.

Stance is all about rims with a lot of offset, stretched tyres, and negative camber. To achieve that “perfect” stance-look, you must have suspension modifications that will allow your car to sit closer …

Kaihatsu Silvia Update

The end of October was a busy period for the Kaihatsu Liqui-Moly Silvia.
A photo shoot was on the books for RACEWEB online magazine for about a month or two now, so on a Friday last month after finishing off the roll cage and interior we booked it in for a shoot on Table Mountain road.

We also attending the MASSIVE CTSR park off in Ottery China Town on 27 October 2011. The car drew great attention parked up with 1 or 2 of the other D1S cars. The night also saw …

4 Pot NA Mashup – NA engine wars

Possibly the most used engines when it comes to 2L NA power (majority 16 valve). And we couldn’t give it to you without the ride option. What you think?

We start with Nissan and its SR20VE Neo VVL

It produces 139 kW@7000 rpm and 196 Nm @6000 rpm and later 150 kW@7200 rpm and 206 nm @5200 rpm, add a few bolt-on components, who know where you would end up.

Drifters Delight – Cape Town Drifting

This weekend hosted a few events across the Cape and we selected to go drift at the Saldanha West Coast Festival of speed with the Dr1ft Squad.
The week and day leading up to the event was challenging to say the least with having to install the roll cage, change all fluids in the car for Liqui-Moly products, source a tow car and trailer (all trailers were hired out for the weekend), body kit not being finished in time by the body shop and a flat on the tow car which …

Random Image – Japanese Porn

One super hot looking Nissan Skyline RS Turbo. I’m not 100% sure of the body kit on the car but the attraction is that awesome looking vent behind the front wheel arch. The wheels definitely make the kit look aggressive and add to the overall look of the Nissan RS Turbo. What do you guys think of this lil hottie? I personally wouldn’t change a thing!
{Thanks Nick M}

THE HILL – Maxxis Tyres BDC Round 4

I’m a sucker for HD drift video clips, I would have to say I’m guilty of using at least 60% of my monthly ADSL cap on watching HD motorsport video clips. Last night I came across this video clip on the Driftworks website. This is a short film from the 4th round of the British Drift Championships at The Hill. The Sound Track in the HD film just makes the clip that much more dramatic as well! Check it out if you want to be inspired.
