This coming weekend Killarney will once again be hosting a marathon of events starting early on Saturday and ending late Sunday afternoon. Saturday’s action kicks off with MSA Drag racing on the main straight from 9am while the oval side of the circuit will have Short Circuit Racing from early morning till late into the afternoon. The day’s event will be followed by Street2Strip from 6pm till 10.30pm and on Sunday there will be a Streetcar Track Day from 11am till 3.30pm.

What makes MSA Drags different from Street2Strip?

In short, no long queues between runs

MSA Drags offers competitions, also known as Bracket Racing (more info on this to follow) which counts towards championship points to determine the top 3 champions for the year. After each event there is also a prize giving where you could possibly take home trophies and/or prize monies (TBC). ALL drag racing runs will be published after each event. Nice for analyzing your runs, etc.

Raceweb.co.za Online Magazine will be hosting the Street2Strip side of the event and will be adding some interesting flavor to the evening. See who races at Street2Strip! All race entrants will be added to an online Raceweb database where future races and challenges can be set up online and can then be taken to the strip for everyone to see! All you have to do is LOG ON and make the challenge!

KILLARNEY – STREETCAR STREET2STRIP INFO

This coming Friday 21 January Killarney Race Track will host another Street2Strip Streetcar event from 7pm till 11pm. The event includes ¼ Mile Drags (on the main straight), Drifting practice and a night Gymkhana practice at the oval, all for Streetcars. Entries from 6pm till 9pm at the main gate.

Entrance fee: R30
Driver/Racing fee: R20

The 2010 Western Cape motorsport curtain is going to be coming down in grand style at Killarney when the charity FFG Allstarz strut their stuff at the complex on Sunday and Monday, December 26 and 27.

Previously The Fast, Furious and Glorious, and now making its ninth appearance at the complex, this multi facet show continues to increase in scope and seems to grow more popular every year.

Aimed at the youth, as well as the young at heart, it features a wealth of attractions for everyone from engine idlers to anyone who ever threw a conrod. These include Street-to-Strip racing on Sunday, with The Fast, Furious and Glorious Drag Challenge due to take place on Monday.
